When you say ‘I need to lose weight fast’ just picture those Calories as invisible little buggers that sew our clothes tighter while we sleep. Haha if only it was that simple.
A Calorie is measured by the amount of energy it takes to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water by 1 degree C.

The Daily Calorie intake for a Female Adult is 2000 Cal . 2500 / 2800 for Adult Males. Studies have shown that Ireland is up there with one of the top CALORIE CONSUMING COUNTRIES in the world with an average of over 3000 Calories per Day . You can now understand why we can struggle to maintain or lose weight if we are always in a Calorie surplus .

Bread is our go to Carb in Ireland . We love it, I bloody love it but i have cut it out my diet in the past few years as it offers little Nutritional benefit for the amount we consume. . Don’t get me wrong a nice sandwich now and then Won’t add 5lbs of Fat. Just the same that one good meal or Workout Won’t burn 5lbs or fat. Moderation is the key.

Let’s say you are sticking to your new 1700 Calorie intake per day as you want to drop some body fat. You have added in regular exercise too which is GREAT. On a visit to our parents ( if they’re anything like mine) they always want to make you a sandwich. You know they taste so bloody good BUT if you eat that tasty sandwich could it send you over your daily limit of 1700 calories??? If you’re under then there’s some room for that sandwich as it’s not a loaded one which is a 1000 calories.

The point I’m making is – keep track of your calories and if you’re under, then you have options for a small treat. This also does not mean you can eat 1700 Calories of crap food and leave it at that. You still need a healthy balanced Diet of Protein , Fats and Carbs and O yeah Tons of Veg. If after your meals there are Calories left then a small treat is fine . I’v found this approach to work better as to completely cut out everything you enjoy will only resort in a binge session within a few days. .
